The Past Mayor of St. Johnsville

Past Mayor Wilfred Y. Kraft

The village named the new water filtration plant in honor of Mr. Kraft, who has given the village faithful service for many years.

Since January 31, 1941, served as a fireman, a total of 59 years.

April, 1952, elected as Village Trustee for one year.

From April 1953 to 1965, Mayor for 12 years.

April 1969 to 1987, served as Mayor for 18 years.

1987, served one year for the Community Development Agency.

April 1991-1999, served as Village Trustee, 8 years.

April 1999, to the present day, once more serving as Mayor.

In addition he served in the US Air Force and Army for 4 years, and 3 years in the Military Government in Germany, 20 years in the State Department of Labor.
